Destinations / Arabian Gulf / Dubai / Dubai Desert

Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates, located within the emirate and situated on the southeastern coast of the Persian Gulf. The Dubai Desert sprawls over the Sahara and is certainly not the desolate wasteland of sand one might imagine it to be. Quite the contrary!

Dubai Desert encroaches upon the fringes of Dubai City and is as much a part of Dubai as the newly constructed skyscrapers and wondrous Palm Island or Burj Khalifi. A hot desert climate is what one expects in the region with extremely hot and humid conditions virtually year round. The desert is home to some unique flora and fauna and an ongoing conservation programme is dedicated to its preservation.

These days, Dubai Subjects to in the Desert are synonymous with Jeep safaris, midnight picnics in the sand whilst gazing at the immense starry skies above or bumpy camel rides over the neverending dunes. Thrill-seekers will adore the jostling drive in a 4 x 4 where the enormous sand dunes rise like monumental cliff-faces but the adventurous jeep drivers scale the dunes with ease. Climb aboard a grumpy "ship of the desert" and enjoy a camel's view of the undulating terrain where the mighty Sahara extends as far as the eye can see. Sprawl on a cosy rug to eat delicious barbecued food on a romantic picnic and enjoy a traditional belly dancing routine or go local and have your palm painted with henna! You will definitely find your own little private oasis on a Dubai Desert holiday.

Subjects to in the Dubai Desert are exciting and utterly romantic. After all, we cannot think of Arabia without a desert and, who knows, our own Lawrence may come galloping along over the next dune!
