Destinations / France / French Riviera / Juan les Pins
Even the name Juan-les-Pins calls up images of cutting edge chic and the town is redolent of romance and glamour and simply epitomises the sophistication of a French Riviera resort. The second largest town in the Alpes Maritimes area (conjoined with Antibes), the town is situated between Nice and Cannes and is a major player on the Cote D'Azur tourist trail - a French Riviera holiday with class!
Just west of Antibes, Juan-les-Pins got its name (in 1882) from the many pine trees in the area and today is a dynamic and thriving resort with excellent infrastructure, great nautical amenities and vibrant nightlife - typical amenities of a decent French Riviera holiday.
Hotels in Juan-les-Pins are good standard and have amenities to match, all catering to a highly discerning audience. The fabulous jazz festival held in July, Jazz a Juan, attracts the greats such as B.B. King, George Benson, Ray Charles et al and is internationally acclaimed and has connections with a sister city, New Orleans.
Cultural, historical and with a rich heritage, Juan-les-Pins also enjoys a gorgeous coastline fronting the Mediterranean, many lovely parks and green areas and some architectural gems. For holidays in the south of France, the resort is hard to beat.
Ever reminiscent of Peter Sarstedt's famous song "Where do you go to my lovely", Juan-les-Pins will always hearken back to the jet set and the heady days of the '60s.
As a French Riviera holiday resort, Juan-les-Pins is a little Mediterranean jewel. There are no flights to Juan-les-Pins, but direct flights to Nice from Dublin guarantee the enduring popularity of this marvellous area.
