The Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Resort is the southernmost ski resort in Europe, with 105km of trails, 120 ski runs and 22 lifts, and it's just 2 hrs from Malaga airport. While car hire is recommended to reach the mountains, it is also possible to take the train to Granada, where there is a direct bus service to Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Resort, 32km away.
Hailed as the sunniest ski resort in Europe, Sierra Nevada was declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1986 and acquired National Park status in 1989. With 80% of sunny days, it's the perfect environment for snow lovers to practice all types of winter sports like skiing, snow boarding and snow mobiling.
