Costa de la Luz Subjects to
Another "Costa" to add to our list, but immediately dispel any notion of crowds, commercialism or crass furry donkeys! Costa de la Luz Subjects to a far cry from the madding crowd and so much the better for it.
Swathes of golden caster sugar sands backed by pine trees, wonderfully undiscovered villages and picturesque towns, a great mix of culture and architecture (Moorish, Renaissance, and Baroque) all blend in a happy and loyal union. As yet, this fairly unknown region encompasses the little resorts of El Rompido, Isla Cristina, Isla Canela & Islantilla and, of course, one cannot but pay respect to the home of Flamenco itself, Sevilla.
Together with Cadiz, Costa de la Luz is home to Jerez de la Frontera (sherry tasting!) and the birthplace of that refreshing chilled soup, gazpacho. Also, renowned for tapas and Seville oranges, the food here has a strong Moroccan influence and lots of fresh seafood is popular on virtually every menu.
This lesser known portion of Andalucia stretches all the way from the Straits of Gibraltar virtually to the banks of the Guadiana River, the natural border with Portugal and is somewhere you will enjoy beautiful landscapes and experience the real quality of life.
